Kleinpeter Dairy is urging people to donate to Friends of the Animals to improve conditions and facilities at Companion Animal Alliance (CAA), encourage more pet adoptions and fosterings, and ultimately lead to a substantial reduction in the number of animals euthanized at the East Baton Rouge Animal Control Center.
This initiative, which has serious intentions, is timed to celebrate a lighthearted and happy occasion: Sweetie Pie, the cow born with the Kleinpeter heart logo on her forehead, is on the verge of giving birth to her first calf. To celebrate the birth, Jeff Kleinpeter, President and CEO, Kleinpeter Farms Dairy, says it was Sweetie Pie’s “idea” to have a fund drive for pets instead of a “baby shower” for her calf.
For a $100 donation, donors can get on the list to have a Kleinpeter calf named after them. For $50, donors can purchase a brick at the CAA facility, and for $25, a special edition Kleinpeter Moo Crew T-shirt.
